OH! MY COD WINS THE GASTRONOMIC AWARD
Oh! My Cod Food & Cultural Tours was one of the winners of the sixth edition of the National Tourism Award, an initiative Expresso/BPI, which distinguished five projects in the categories of Authentic, Gastronomic, Inclusive, Innovative and Sustainable Tourism.
We are very proud and honored by this award. This prize shows an important sensibility from the Turismo de Portugal and the juris, towards a 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺, that is co-constructed with travelers, created with the local communities with a sense of context, critical thinking and centered on human and meaningful encounters.
Oh! My Cod, works with gastronomy in an eclectic and holistic approach, as a medium to narrate several voices, cultures, generations and different perspectives – namely the subversive ones – through immersive experiences and human encounters, where we all become cultural narrators.

I was inspired to merge my academic in Transcultural Psychology and Cultural Anthropology, my love for Portugal & food with a conscious travel mindset, to create impactful & meaningful experiences. Since 2016, we support local communities and connect travelers with social & cultural subjects, in a fun, ‘foodie’, & informative way.
Delicious food with locals, it’s the best medium to discover a country, go deep into contemporary culture and cross several layers of history.
Our model of Slow Food Travel and food experiences is made up of meetings and exchanges in small-group food and cultural experiences. Food tours, meetings with farmers, winegrowers, or cheesemakers, cooking classes, food trips, you choose!
Experience options suitable for vegetarians, gluten-free foodies, pescatarians, lactose intolerant, and keto diet travelers.
Experiences grounded on notions of transcultural cuisine and glocal, supported by critical thinking which we apply to our personal experiences but also to history and culture.
Food, as the gateway to local and global history, as the way to express counter narratives, power relations, social changes, migrations and even gender roles.

𝗢𝗵! 𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 & 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀 was considered 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, by the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, promoted by Turismo de Portugal, Expresso, BPi and Deloitte.
This prize values a 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 of excellence, created with the local communities with a sense of context, critical thinking and centered on human and meaningful encounters.
Among the final five nominees, we had unique projects like Desarma and Vinha Boutique Hote (Michelin-star restaurants), Malhadinha Nova (Relais Chateaux) and Hotel 1980.
𝗢𝗵! 𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗱 Food Cultural Tours & Trips 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, by the Ibérico Heritage Awards and AR&PA Bienal Ibérica de Património Cultural.
In the 2023 edition these prizes are a tribute to all the good practices in the field of cultural heritage in the Iberian peninsula.
